History

Established in 1965, the Gold Coast Lapidary/ Gem Club is one of the longest running clubs on the Gold Coast. Originally located in Burleigh, we moved to our current location way back in the 70’s when the Pizzey Park area was nothing but sand hill & a rubbish dump, not even a pool! The land we are on is leased from the GCCC but because the members wanted to ensure a permanent home they decided to build their own club rooms with funds raised by the club members. Over the years tens of thousands of dollars have been raised by the members & this money has been invested into specialist equipment & facilities for the use & benefit of all members. The Club is run wholly & solely by volunteers who give their time generously to help others learn these amazing & fascinating arts & crafts. These crafts include Cabachon, Faceting, Casting, Carving, & Silversmithings. Our members range from 12yrs to 80+ & all ages in between! New members always welcome! 🙂
